Interview of the Month:

AUDEN'S INTERVIEW OF DOOOOOOM!
by Auden Magala

For this issue I decided to interview two people. It's a study of sisters; of best friends; of two people you might just confuse and think they were really one person. This month I interviewed Mearlynn and Tasmanti.

Mearlynn:
So this art thing.... really?
RLYRLY!!! I shall soon draw embarrassing caricatures of everyone on RoTV with my AMAZING ART POWERS and then ruin everyone's lives.

Artists are weird. Are you?
I am perfectly normal. Everyone else is just insane. And far smellier than I. :|

ZOMG an evil fairy is going to turn you into a food! What food does she turn you into?
A FLYING FRYING PAN TO COOK THE FLYING BACON. Wait, that's not a food. Um. :look Flying parsnips? :look

Teenagers have angst. Have you?
Of course not. LIFE IS JUST ALWAYS PUTTING ME DOWN, MAN! FIGHT THE SYSTEM!

What is your favorite word?
Schenectady.

Bonus question:
Who in their right mind chooses to move to Rhode Island?
well, see, I wouldn't normally choose to move here because I've heard the people are terribly stuck up and pretty and stuff. But, Auden used to live here, so their standards can't be all that high! Therefore, I decided to give living in Rhode Island a shot. :D

Tasmanti:
So this art thing.... really?
No, I clearly just made up the entire concept of art to make myself sound more interesting.

Artists are weird. Are you?
I want to ride my biiiiiiicycle, I want to ride it wheeeeere I liiiike. No, I"M AS FREAKIN' NORMAL AS THEY COME--DON'T JUDGE ME :cry.

ZOMG an evil fairy is going to turn you into a food! What food does she turn you into?
Fairy poop. I'm magically awesome, but still full of crap. And in this world, people really eat up bullshit, so don't tell me that's not food, Shannon. :nono

Teenagers have angst. Have you?
I angst that other people are morons and I get so pissed off that they cannot toss their recyclable products into the proper disposal bin when it's TWO STEPS AWAY DAMN IT. Learn how to read. :|

What is your favorite word?
Off the top of my head? Miscreant. Not because I want to be one, but rather the way it flows off the tongue... You already know what my true favourite word is, Auden Sedai, and it is not approproate for public news or forums. :look

Bonus Question:
Your name is interesting. Care to elaborate on it?
I am a pissant cunt. ^^

Junior Member Interview, with Llyr
by Salome Aviye

How long have you been a member of RoTV?
I have been a member for about 15 days. And I love it!

How did you come to read the Wheel of Time books?
I came about reading the WoT books because a friend introduced them to me. I was in 5th grade so the books were a little past my reading level. I gave them up until I found that I was board this summer. Well I saw the book and gave it another shot instantly addicting myself to the series.

How did you come to join RoTV?
How I first came upon RoTV was just general internet searching. When I started reading the books questions came about. I wanted these questions answered and I wanted them answred quickly. So, basically what hapened is I went around searching and then I saw Tarvalon.net Well I read part of their rules and it looked to me that I didn't like how things were run. So i searched for "tar valon" and I got this site. Things were a little more laxed and thus I joined. I have enjoyed being a member ever since. I have tried to get on everyday and have fun.

What's your favorite thing about the Wheel of Time books?
My favorite thing about the WoT books is that they got me insanely addicted amazingly fast. I could not believe how fast I was addicted. The difference between the characters and all the difference in general. All the detail has just amazed me.

Who is your favorite author, and why?
Since I started reading the WoT books Robert Jordan has become my favorite author. His realness, and his amazing imagination is what captivated me. He has the amazing ability to create not just one detailed society but a whole world of detailed societies. I have not seen one thing lacking in the books but the money system. So far I have seen no orginized moeny system. But for those reasons he has become my favorite author.

What are you looking forward to most over the next few months?
Looking forward to the next months, I'm looking forward to readin the WoT series, being promoted, and my birthday. Coming with my birthday is my opportunity to teach Taekwondo for money. Soon as I turn 14 I will already have a part-time job teaching Taekwondo.

What one thing is already on your holiday wish list?
Already on my holiday wish list. Hmmm, probably cloths, and a video game system, I'll have to see what video game systems come out between now and then. But, I will probably want the most recent video game system.

Book Review

A Song of Ice and Fire: A Game of Thrones
by Salome Sedai

George R. R. Martin's fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire is well known to many of our members and many other Wheel of Time readers...but I remained sadly in the dark until recently. Now I am just as addicted to it as I am to all my other series! Martin's work, particularly A Game of Thrones (the first book), is refreshing, though, for a few reasons. Unlike most fantasy books, it has a cast of characters and some of them are "main characters," but the emphasis on who is important changes over time. One of the best (and worst) things about him is he is definitely not afraid to kill off main characters in the way some authors seem to be. In this way, the book is very realistic; no one can escape death, and on top of that, no one is either all good or all evil. It is also realistic in the sense that magic doesn't get the heavy emphasis it has in most fantasy books. Martin's focus is more on politics, and the intricate politics of his world are maddeningly frustrating at times, but overall, very believable. I would definitely recommend it for those who haven't read it yet, and if you have and are looking to reread a series, this is the one!

Wheel of Time news:

by Jaydena McKanthur

It’s been three months since last I wrote and I like many others have dealt with my share of adversity. So this Gracefully Fit I am going to talk about how to deal with staying fit, despite the things that hit you in the face in this thing we call life. It can often be hard to stay committed to being healthy when things happen to us. We lose our focus because we are upset or stressed, or we find comfort in that brownie or that ice-cream. I am here to tell you that no matter how stressed you are you don’t have to reach for that remote or for the piece of food your craving. What we first need to do is get to the basis of our cravings, are you craving it because it’s something your body needs, (no your body does not triple fudge ice cream ladies, that’s your soul) *winks. So now that we have established that and dispelled that bit of myth, what is causing you to go to the store and get some cookies. You need to look inside yourself and find out why, are you doing it because it’s a habit or because your jobs stressing you out, or your school work is getting to you. Once you have done that we also need to establish if it’s an urge or a craving. How to do this? Two stories, Jaydena goes to the movies and as soon as she walks in she just has to have a tub of popcorn that is an urge. The second story is, Jaydena has been craving starbursts for weeks and she continues to crave them despite telling herself no. Now the first was an urge, these are controllable, they say that urges pass within 10 minutes, and don’t come back. I don’t know how true this is but someone researched it so hopefully they know.

A craving is much harder to deal with that the urge, because there is a reason for the craving. Let me caution you here though, if you body is craving something like steak or chicken, there is probably a reason for it. Something your body is lacking and you need, so indulge that craving. I have been doing this for awhile and I have learned to control the cravings I have, the best way to do this is take your mind off of it, instead of going to the store, go out for a walk or job. Pick up your guitar or a hobby you enjoy and work with it, perhaps go play a board game with your family. I know it’s hard to not indulge yourself but it’s really for your own benefit. Someone told me something the other day that really stuck with me; nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. Man that just fit so right with my life these days. Once you deal with your cravings and the reasons behind them it’s much easier to stay motivated through any stresses that attack you. Sometimes your health isn’t going the way you want or you’re not losing the way you want, or perhaps your own health issues are getting in the way. Don’t give up, it will happen if you stayed committed, I know you often want to go the easy way but just think how healthy you will be in the end if you don’t give up. Well that’s the end of this issue of Gracefully Fit, if anyone would like to talk to me about health issues my door is always open as is my PM box. Signing off I am Jaydena Sedai, 193 lbs lighter! *winks*

Go with the Light,
Jaydena
